Graham, Thomas Bell, The Kashmir dispute before the United Nations Security Council, January-April, 1948, Thesis, Duke University, 1958. Brief summary.

This study examines the early phases of the dispute, the period from its outbreak to the passage of the first comprehensive United Nations resolution on Kashmir . The writer argues this is the most important period in the history of the controversy in that attitudes were developed and the policies hardened which have since limited the chances for settlement. In a sense, the entire story of the Kashmir conflict is found in its first few months.  The abstract.
